The Atlas open back banjo is built with a labor intensive sturdy block construction reminiscent of the Ashborn Banjos of the 1860s. Far superior to other open backs made today, the walnut pot is ultra light but far stronger than rolled rims, delivering hauntingly beautiful full sound. The 11" pot has a slightly more focused tone and is a bit more comforatable for some players. The Atlas has an ebony fingerboard, Saturn and Stars inlay in mother of pearl and abalone, a partial thumb scoop under the 5th string, quality tension hoop, hooks and nuts. Gotoh tuners. Compensated Enterprise bridge, Comfort Bevel armrest, and quality gig bag with comfortable backpack straps.
